Hahnemuehle Calendar Competition: We want your “Watercolour Abstracts” (English)
|
The entry deadline is approaching: up to 30th June, hobby painters and professionals may send their paintings. The works wanted for the Hahnemühle Art Calendar 2012 are abstract watercolours. "A young, modern topic that comprises many ways into the abstraction," says Rana Ardal-Altun, Hahnemühle's product manager for watercolour papers. "Many works featuring shapes, colours and fantasy have already been sent and we are looking forward to receiving more of your works." Just as it was the case in the previous years, the competition has been announced internationally. This year, Austrian painter Heinz Schweizer is participating for the third time. He entered a series of mountain abstractions. "The imposing mountain world of my country features subjects that result in a major picture abstraction, with my approach," he explains. "The pictures are painted on the rough version of the Cornwall Watercolour Paper that allows for a particularly intense blending of the colours."
