Hahnemühle – 425 years of dedication to the arts

Very few companies worldwide can look back with pride over such a long and rich tradition. Since its founding in 1584 in Dassel Hahnemühle has demonstrated its superb mastery of a traditional craft: creating uniquely beautiful papers from pure spring water and premium raw materials. Centuries old tradition and a fine appreciation of artistic needs are combined to ensure the highest quality. Hahnemühle papers – manufactured at the same location for 425 years – delight painters, graphic artists, illustrators, bookbinders and photographers in more than 80 countries.

Creative souls use Hahhemühle papers for their originals: watercolors, oil and acrylic paintings, drawings, pastel paintings, art reproductions and fine art prints. The traditional artist papers and digital inkjet papers are the ideal media for long lasting art works. They are to be found worldwide in exhibitions, galleries and museums.

To celebrate its 425th anniversary Hahnemühle announces a number of attractive special offers.

The Hahnemühle Anniversary Photo Award is directed at photographers worldwide. The theme is “For Originals”: we are interested in the photographer’s unique angle that captures people, objects and moods from an original perspective. Hahnemühle is giving away non-cash prizes worth € 36.000 and is organizing the Anniversary Collection with presentations in the photo capitals of the world.

An exclusive Anniversary Edition will be published in 2009 in the anniversary design using traditional or digital Hahnemühle papers. A high quality presentation folder will contain various papers in 13 x 19" from the Digital FineArt Collection. Photo Rag® Ultra Smooth, Photo Rag® Baryta and Bamboo will be available in. The black anniversary presentation box contains 50 sheets of each quality and is ideal as an elegant cover for portfolios. It is being designed exclusively for Hahnemühle by Prat, Paris.
