The profiles for Mac OS X are "zipped" due to the fact that Safari-Browser has problems downloading ICC-profiles.
These "zipped" files can be unpacked by double-clicking the downloaded file.

These generic ICC-Profiles were created with Adobe Photoshop (6.x or higher) with specified settings for paper, ink and printers to get the best result as possible in this combination.
Generic profiles do not (can not) take into consideration factors that vary over a broad spectrum of workstations with an even broader range of configurations; such as monitor calibration, graphic cards and local PhotoShop settings. Generic profiles can get the system to "third base", however additional tweaking maybe necessary if further fine-tuning is required.
