Creativity can be expressed in an infinite variety of ways, similarly there are countless painting techniques. We would like to familiarise you with some of these techniques on the following pages. For each of the painting techniques described here Hahnemühle FineArt recommends the corresponding papers.
This exposé on the different drawing and painting papers does not claim to be definitive but is intended to demonstrate just why we offer so many different qualities. All Hahnemühle FineArt pads are individually marked to indicate the area of application. Some paper qualities are suitable for a number of different painting techniques without the user having to comprise.
A creative artist is always eager to experiment and often employs papers that are usually reserved for other painting and drawing technique, because for example he prefers a particular paper surface more than another.
