The Hahnemühle Certificate of Authenticity was prepared especially for those artists who want to guarantee the exclusive character of the limited editions of their works and reproductions, and thus also prevent their forgery. Each of the Certificates has a serialized numerical hologram, affixed to the certificate.
The Certificate can be designed by the artist himself or herself, and contain such information as the description of the artistic presentation, personal data of the artist, the publisher, the number of copies and publication date of the individual copies. The customized design can be placed on the Certificates by using ink, laser, thermal transfer or offset litho printing techniques.
The second hologram, with matching numbers, can be placed on the reverse of the work of art. The combination of certificate and hologram guarantees that the given Certificate of Authenticity has indeed been issued for this particular work of art.
The Certificates are manufactured in compliance with the strict standards and regulations of Europay and Clearstream – the world leaders in the field of protecting print against forgery. The security features are placed on the certificate and on the associated hologram in visible or invisible manner, as sequential numbers, embossed guilloche, rainbow printing, watermarks and special UV signature.
