Description | In Skyggernes Afsked (Farewell of the Shadows), I sought to capture the quiet moment of transition—the instant when presence turns into absence, and what once was solid begins to dissolve. The figure stands at the threshold of light and darkness, a fragile boundary between past and future. The reflection in the water is not just a mirror image but a distorted echo of what was, lingering before fading away. The contrast between warm and cool tones represents both comfort and detachment, a visual dialogue between memory and release. The silence in the piece is not empty; it is filled with the weight of unspoken words and the soft hum of departure. Through shifting hues and stretched proportions, the scene conveys the delicate balance between holding on and letting go—an exploration of how shadows do not truly disappear but transform into something new. |
