This theme attempts to capture precisely these subtle, easily overseen moments. Such details can be found everywhere: a puddle on the street reflecting the sky like a secret mirror; twisted branches forming a naturally shaped heart; a brief, intimate moment between two people in the middle of a loud concert; light falling through blinds and forming a graphic pattern on a table; dust particles dancing like tiny sparks in a ray of sunshine; or the milk foam on a warm cappuccino that happens to reveal a heart.
All traditional painting and drawing techniques – watercolour, acrylic, charcoal, gouache, coloured pencil, graphite and mixed media – offer countless possibilities for uncovering and expressing these hidden details. AI-generated images and digitally created artwork are excluded. The competition promotes an appreciation for the subtle nuances of every moment and highlights scenes that often remain unnoticed. The resulting artworks sharpen the eye, invite discovery and reveal the extraordinary in the everyday.
